Successful application of the essential skills in a veterinary medical environment as required by the American Veterinary Medical Association accrediting agency. 4. Demonstrate and perform patient assessment techniques in a variety of animal species. 5. Safely and effectively produce diagnostic radiographs, assist in animal nursing procedures and manage patients under anesthesia. 6. Work independently on professional duties specific to Certified Veterinary Technicians. 7. Summarize key aspects of Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine/Critical Care, Pain management and analgesia in a cohesive manner that may be applied to the Veterinary Technician National Exam. Content outline Practicum Students will be matched to a practicum site for a three-week period. Each student is expected to attend 120 total hours for each three-week period at a clinical site.
