Institutional Success

One of the many ways in which COCC evaluates how well it is meeting its mission is by monitoring a meaningful set of institutional success indicators. The two main elements of COCC’s mission arestudent successandcommunity enrichment. Fall 2019 the College developed and endorsed six indicators focused on student success, more specifically staying enrolled, passing gateway courses and achieving success. These indicators provide a high-level overview of student success, are used to identify areas for needed improvement, and inform institutional planning and decision-making. Work to define a set of indicators for community enrichment is still underway.

As each Institutional Success Indicator is established, it will be measured annually with the result compared to an aspirational but realistic target set based on historical performance and/or comparison with state or national peers where possible.
